Nike Cortez

Nike's popular running-inspired Nike Cortez, one of the most influential shoes of all time, is available at Footlocker.com at great prices. Back in the day, the Cortez was a premier track shoe. Bill Bowerman, a very successful track and field coach and co-founder of Nike, created the revolutionary Cortez model in 1972. He designed a well-cushioned shoe that could take the punishment of 100 miles per week of pounding the pavement. The first model was made of leather, but he figured out how to reduce the weight using an upper of nylon (lightweight and quick drying) and suede, which holds the form of the toe without restricting the foot. That was cutting-edge shoe technology.
